About Us
Help Foundation is a Lebanese non-governmental association, officially established in 2009, under the decree number 1359. Help Foundation works in partnership with the public and private sectors, both nationally and internationally, to protect vulnerable population without any discrimination concerning race, religion and nationality. |
Rationale
There is no critical period in the life of a society, where everyone should get together, more needed than now. Lebanon is witnessing the disintegration of the sectarian, patriarchal and rentier system that undermined for decades the values and principles of justice and human rights. The economic collapse, along with the huge blast that hit Beirut while corona virus was spreading, all that initiated mass actions where people from all the Lebanese territories demanded political, economic and social transformation and change. As a civil society organization, we cannot standstill without engaging and influencing this transformation. With the absence of any noticeable response from the public sector, and while almost everyone was affected by these overwhelming crises, vulnerable population in specific have experienced worse outcomes and higher threats to their survival and wellbeing. Help Foundation works to support and empower vulnerable population to improve the standards of living for themselves and others.

Our Philosophy and approaches
We work in a framework of believes based on Human right-based approach and participatory approach. By following the Human rights –based approach, we work to promote and protect human rights, investigate inequalities and address discriminatory practices and unjust distributions of power while ensuring the active participation of right holders and stakeholders, in the process. Our philosophy , aims to improve social awareness and encourage a continuous dialogue to interrogate dominant views and what is accepted as ‘common sense’. With Help Foundation philosophy, vulnerable population are not beneficiaries, but right holders who are empowered to engage in a dialogue with community stakeholders to extend the idea of community engagement. |
